How To Reduce PIM

1. Poor contact junction
Lack of techniques, manufacturing defects resulting in loosely done connectors, and cold solder joint create PIM.
With the experienced design and development ability, Chin Nan has a strict manufacturing process to control the tolerances when machining and utilize the inspection tools to measure the dimensions from the machining to shipment to decrease the possibility of damaged connectors, cold solder or cracked solder joint.

2. Ferromagnetic materials
The use of ferromagnetic materials, such as nickel or steel, generates PIM resulting from the nonlinear voltage to the current, especially at the high power level.
Therefore, Chin Nan uses brass and copper alloys, which is regarded as linear materials, to make low PIM connectors.
For plating, we apply non-magnetic plating like sliver or white bronze specifically to reduce contact junction resistance. The point is to have proper thickness of plating for the smooth current travel by reducing the effects from the surface depth at the same time.
3. Contamination
The problems of age, oxidation, corrosion, dirt and rust among others, and any kind of interruption on the passive devices are other major factors of PIM. Chin Nan applies the complete process including careful cleaning, proper assembly, good environmental protection and proper connector torque to minimize PIM.

7/16 connectors are high performance, robust and stable connectors. They are designed for minimize PIM specifically.
7/16 features high frequency, low-intermodulation and low return loss, high power handing. 7/16 is designed with waterproof and anti-vibration specifications, so it is able to reduce signal interference from PIM and suitable for outdoor applications, especially for base stations, antenna and wireless communication systems.
Low PIM N-Type
Low PIM N-type series feature low VSWR, low insertion loss, high power handling, rugged construction and the familiar interface. They provide ideal low PIM performance.
Low PIM N-type connectors are designed with low-loss construction and waterproof protection. They are designed to adapt to applications that require weather resistance and high data transfer rates, such as Wireless/ Wi-Fi/ GSM base stations.
